The term “post frame” is actually the manner in which a pole barn or other detached structure is built. A post frame building is typically built using a combination of strong wood posts that interlock together and heavy roof trusses with heavy-duty, metal roofing covering them. These buildings are made to be strong and sturdy. A non-living detached structure (one you don’t live in) usually won’t have many interior walls, but will have large open areas well suited for agricultural and industrial purposes. A living detached structure (one you can live in) will have more walls, separating the rooms, and will be more expensive.
